Home Office

Removing the dark paneling was interesting to say the least. It's been a slow going process with construction dust and dirt all over the house. Since I did it all myself it also took a long time. But It was worth it. Now we have a comfortable and pleasing office.

Original Office
				As you can see this place was a dark, dismal mess and always cluttered.
				Too much stuff and not enough realestate The Window AC was always blowing on me and the windows with the in AC unit intalled are always full of bugs, etc.

Office Renovation
					This is a add-on room addition. When it was built the roof joices were cut and the cut-off covered with a 1"x10" and drywalled over. This allowed heat to escape between it and the brick wall. We didn't know this till I opened it up.
					The ceiling had the old style 8"x 8" tiles. The ceiling will need a lot of mud to repair all those staple holes. The 2x4 flourecent lights will be replaced with canned recessed lights.
					The center window was too small and I replaced it with a 4'x 4' double pane.
					Had to replace the drywall below the AC/window as it was soft and mildewed. Added Insulation everywhere.
					Removed the single window in the middle covered the frame and framed in 2 new narrow double pane windows on each side.
					I moved the AC from the end wall to the middle of the room underneath the big window. Now it also blows into the other room through the doorway and not on me directly.
					Repaint, didn't like it. Painted it again. Finished the baseboards and added crown molding
					Painting wall graphics is tedious.
				Added curtains and a cornice shelf. Canned recessed lights need to be installed yet.
